Input Data
A 'Facility', e.g. coal fired power plant, is defined due to parameters (e.g. technical parameters like stack parameters, emissions, but also occupied land area, etc.).
A facility can be any process, or life cycle stage of a technology.
EcoSense was typically used for assessing the emissions due to operation of a single source, like a oil fired power station.
However, the tool can also be used to evaluate the pressure on the environment (e.g. emissions and land occupation) caused by other sources.

Output Data
EcoSenseWeb supports the evaluation of results by generating different types of reports.
The results are either displayed on an aggregated level or impacts and external costs occurring
within individual countries are displayed. The reports include results for the local, regional and hemispheric analysis.
Depending on the calculation mode for which the impact assessment was carried out, results are available for
different reference units (e.g. impacts per year or impacts per kWh).
EcoSenseWeb produces following intermediate results and reports impacts and external costs at different levels of details:
Concentration levels of primary and secondary particles and ozone
Receptor (i.e. population, crops, building material) exposure
Physical impacts resulting from exposure to airborne pollutants
(Damage) Costs due to impacts on human health, crops, building materials, ecosystems and due to climate change.
